Leadership Development Program
Our Leadership Development Program (LDP) is a two-week, hands-on experience for those that wish to grow as a leader at camp, church, and in our community. This program is for rising 11th-12th grades and college freshman. LDPs focus on service to camp and learning about themselves, working with others, and leading children. As a CIT, your camper will play a very important role in the operation of camp daily. Through this program they not only learn about being a counselor but the importance of hard work, of developing strengths and preparing for the future. Week one of the program will be focused on high level training on topics such as child development, behavioral management skills, faith formation and discipleship. This training will prepare them for their next week of camp. The first part of the week your camper will be support staff member helping serve meals, clean camp, and provide support for our programs. The second half of the week your camper will be like a jr. counselor and interacting directly with a group of campers.
Through team-building challenges, serving in various areas of camp, training sessions, an off-site community service trip, and personal reflective time with God; our LDP campers have the opportunity to begin the journey of being the leader God has designed them to be.
Since the LDP program is volunteer based, all hours worked can be signed off by Camp Overlook for service hours.
