Applying and committing on or before February 1st will get you a $100 bonus at the end of the summer
Refer a friend to Camp Overlook and receive a $50 bonus (per friend) at the end of the summer
Summer Staff Job Descriptions
All Staff
We are seeking mission minded young adults (or adults young at heart) to serve as our summer staff. Our summer staff must come to this 8 week commitment (June 6th - July 30) with a love of children, a comfortableness in the outdoors, a passion for their Christian faith, and a strong desire to share that faith with co-workers and campers. We will train you for every other aspect of the job.
You will start with three weeks of staff training (COVID willing) and end with awesome experience to add to your resume.
Work will begin Sunday at 10:00am and finish around 8pm Friday. We have every Saturday off with the exception of the first and last. Room and board is provided, even on days off. Food is also provided as long as we are serving.
All applicants must commit to living drug, tobacco, and alcohol free during the 8 week commitment.
Pay for the summer is based on training and experience. Here is how you will calculate your stipend.
18 or graduated High School $1,100 basic stipend
Age 19-20, 1 year of college completed $200 additional premium
Age 21-25 $300 additional premium
Overlook returner staff $100 additional premium
Returned staffer with superior rating $200 additional premium
Serve 100% of the summer $100 additional premium

Overnight Counselor
- personal sharing and modeling of Christian discipleship
- the leader of a small group (5-7 boys or girls about the same age)
- capable of working with ages 9-17, senior adults (2 days), and intellectually impaired adults (3 days)
- coordinate with co-counselor to create an awesome experience for our campers.
Lifeguard
- supervise lake for swimming safety
- maintain water quality in lake
- maintain attractive waterfront surroundings and grounds
- design waterfront programs and assist and support others in camping community
Arts and Crafts Leader
- plan and implement crafts program for 3rd-10th grades, intellectually impaired adults, and senior adults.
- Budget all needed craft supplies for the season
- assist and support others in camp community programs
Nature Leader
- design and implement nature programs and activities for small groups
- be a willing resource for counselors
- assist and support others in camp community programs
Adventure Director
- facilitate adventure program for adventure campers - transportation, supplies, training, and leadership. Includes preparing for canoe floats, trips, cookery, camp craft, ect.
- Requires special certifications
- assist and support others in camp community programs
Day Camp Director
- design and implement day camp program for campers aged 1st-3rd grade
- responsible for CITs
- assist and support others in camp community programs
CIT (high school aged paid position)
- assist day camp director in implementing day camp program
- assist counselors with evening activities, skits, and clean up
