August 2023 Edition
Summer has come to an end at Camp Overlook and we could not be more thankful for all God has done for us and our campers. As we journeyed through the Old Testament, we learned who God is and how God called the Israelites to be faithful servants. We did this by sharing the story of creation, Moses' life, the Battle of Jericho, David & Goliath, Jonah, and more. Each week of the summer, our last themed activi- ty was about the Israelites exile to Babylonia. In this, we were able to share with
campers that the story of God's people does not end there. Instead, OUR story begins when Jesus died on the cross for everyone. We celebrated God is the same God yesterday, today, and forever. God will always be chasing after each of us. We celebrate that OUR God is a jealous God, who loves us endlessly. Thank you to everyone who has supported Camp Overlook in our summer ministry! We could not do what we do without you. Christina Gibbs, Executive Director |
At the end of every summer, one staff member receives the Ricky Lalli award. Ricky Lalli was a former staff mem- ber who tragically passed away. He was a hard worker who loved camp and had a heart for sharing the love of God with others. His legacy lives on through this award. Congratulations to Abbey Coleman for being the recipient of the Ricky Lalli award for summer 2023. Abbey has been on staff at camp overlook since 2018. She embodies Ricky's spirit and loves Camp Overlook. If you would like to celebrate Abbey, you can send things to camp ad- dressed "attention: Abbey."
